Give me a reason for hope.

Why this exists

The problems are real. So are the people working on them.

Progress is happening all the time, but much of it stays inside specialist communities. Proof of Hope makes it easy to find for anyone who is curious.

It does not claim the world is fine. It claims that evidence of progress deserves attention.

Why receipts

Every story links to direct evidence for the specific thing it says happened. You never have to take our word for it.

What counts as a reason for hope

A specific, checkable example of progress, with real people or organizations behind it. Fundamental science counts too. We don’t invent uses for it.

How stories are found

Through ongoing research and suggestions from readers. Nothing is published automatically. Every story is checked and approved before it appears.

Direct evidence

Every story links to evidence for its specific claim, not to a general homepage. Sources differ: a peer-reviewed paper and an institutional report are not the same kind of evidence, and we don’t pretend they are.

Why some stories stay unpublished

If we can’t find direct evidence, or can’t tell exactly what is being claimed, the story waits.

Corrections

• A small mistake: we fix it and note the change.
• Needs re-checking: the story comes out of the mix until it is verified again.
• Wrong or seriously misleading: the story is withdrawn. Its page stays up with the reason, because quietly deleting a mistake would hide it.
